Kiwi botanically known as Actinidia delicious belongs to the family Actinidiaceae. The plant is native to mainland China and Taiwan and is also grown commercially in New Zealand and California. The fruit has a slightly acid taste and can be eaten raw or cooked. It is a strong-growing perennial twining vine with small leaves and bright red stems and is popularly known by its make little version as ‘kiwi’. Most kiwi plants are dioecious; that is, they suffer either male or female flowers, but not both. It needs one male plant per every 9 female plants and our plant is a female plant.
