Mango Suvarnarekha
This is a commercial variety of Visakhapatnam district of Andhra Pradesh. Other synonyms of this variety are Sundari, Lal Sundari. This is a variety that can be easily identified by the red tinge near the stalk with thick skin. Fruit is medium, ovate-oblong. Base (top of the fruit)is slightly flattened and apex(bottom of the fruit)is round. The fruit has sweet taste and abundant juice of good quality. It is an early season variety (April to May)It helps fight cancer, heart disease and eye problems. keeps you hydrated, quenches thirst and boosts energy/immunity. But not suitable for weight watchers because of its high sugar level content. Mango is low in calories but full of nutrients.
